FGLI Students at UBC?

Our club includes students who are high achieving low income (HALI), students whose families attended college outside of Canada or those whose families don't support the student's decision to attend university.
These student groups can hold diverse and complex intersecting identities that may be marginalized including BIPOC and LGBTQ2+ individuals.

Our Mission

We strive to increase UBC’s efforts of equity and inclusion of students who face barriers in accessing education, and we advocate for a sense of pride in being the first to attend university by creating a supportive community and fostering a sense of belonging on campus. As a club, we are also concerned with the community perception of first generation and low-income college students. Therefore, we strive to demystify any stigma associated with the identity within the UBC community.
